Favorite children's book: Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
Karena joined us in Spring of 2022 and has been working with children for 7 years in both childcare centers and as a nanny. She graduated in 2014 from UT with a Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders, so children's speech acquisition is a huge passion. She loves children of all ages and watching them grow and learn- all the giggles are the best!
She also is a huge animal lover, and currently has one cat named Story, but growing up in New Hampshire loved having a horse, dogs, goats, chickens, turtles and a ferret. She's a proud bone cancer survivor and grateful for every day, especially for getting to spend time with all the kiddos at the UT CDC.
