Butterflies Teacher (Pre-K)

Favorite Children’s Book: A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon.

Katherine began her journey in early childhood education in 2015, shortly after graduating high school, and has found it to be a deeply fulfilling path ever since. Although she briefly stepped away from the field in 2021 due to the challenges of COVID, her passion for teaching and caring for young children never faded. After relocating from Galveston to Austin in December 2023, she was excited to return to the classroom and is now proud to be part of the UT Child Development Center community.

Outside of the classroom, Katherine enjoys spending time outdoors with her schnoodle, Bernie, and taking in Austin’s vibrant live music scene. She comes from a family of gardeners and loves continuing that tradition by spending time tending to plants and enjoying nature together. When she’s not gardening, she enjoys exploring thrift stores and making meaningful memories with family and friends.
