Flex Teacher

Jensen is a dedicated flex teacher at the UT Child Development Center, where she has the opportunity to work with children across all age groups. She brings four years of experience in education, along with a unique professional journey that has strengthened her passion for teaching. After her first year in the classroom, Jensen spent time working in the healthcare field. However, following the pandemic, she realized how much she missed the joy and positivity that teaching brings. She returned to education with a renewed sense of purpose and hasn’t looked back since.

Jensen is continually inspired by the bright, curious, and optimistic nature of young children. Their excitement for everyday discoveries serves as a meaningful reminder of how special the world can be. This perspective is what drew her back to the classroom—she wanted to be part of that sense of wonder and growth.

She loves guiding children as they explore the world around them and finds great joy in watching them learn and develop new skills. Jensen feels honored to play even a small role in each child’s educational journey.

Her teaching style focuses on engaging children through conversation and curiosity. She often asks open-ended questions, giving children the opportunity to share their knowledge, think critically, and take on the role of “teacher” themselves. This approach helps build confidence while supporting meaningful learning experiences.

Outside of the classroom, Jensen enjoys reading, writing, running, and spending time with her husband and their three cats. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in English and hopes to one day become a school librarian.
