Favorite Children’s Book: The Way I Feel by Jana Cain

Lorri moved to Austin in 2015 from St. Paul, MN. She joined UTCDC in September of 2018 , with more than 15 years of experience in early childhood education. She has a Bachelor’s Degree  in Elementary Education and loves working with children.  As a leader within the UTCDC, she is passionate about Conscious Discipline and strengths based leadership. She enjoys learning new things and supporting our classroom teachers so they can be the best versions of themselves.  

Having grown up in Green Bay, Lorri is a diehard Packers fan.  She also loves spending time with her husband, Jake, and daughter, Ruby (12). The Barnett house is quite full with her dog, Mia, and 3 cats: Foxy, Bean and FiFi.  Lorri enjoys weather-watching, chasing sunsets, hiking, paddle boarding and rock climbing.
