Favorite Children's Book: The Napping House by Don and Audrey Wood
Maricela was first introduced to the early childhood education field in 1982 as a volunteer in the church childcare program that her own children attended. That experience sparked a passion for working with children and she ran an in-home day care when her children were young. Maricela joined the UT Child Development Center in 2006 and has had two grandchildren make their way through the program. She holds a Child Development Associate certificate and is currently attending classes through Austin Community College to earn an Associate's degree in Child Development.
In her free time, Maricela enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing at home, traveling, baking, and working on arts and crafts.
