Amanda was born in Austin and was raised in New Orleans. She has been working in the early childhood education field since 2000. Amanda holds a BA in Visual Arts and Psychology with a minor in African American History from Loyola University. She has also attended Texas State and Austin Community College. During her career, Amanda has been an Assistant Teacher, Lead Teacher, administrator and Art Director. Although she spent some time working in the technology sector, she returned to teaching because it is such an honor and priviledge to teach young children. She often finds that she learns just as much from them as they do from her!
When she is not at work, Amanda enjoys painting, designing, walking/hiking, traveling, watching films, reading, doing puzzles, playing cards, exploring, learning, and enjoying music and architecture.
